Orange Chicken Wings Made Easy

These orange chicken wings bring together bright citrus, savory garlic, and a little sweetness for a dish that feels simple but is full of flavor. Dorot’s Frozen Crushed Garlic adds bold garlic flavor without peeling or chopping, and the pre-portioned cubes can go straight into the marinade.

That makes this orange chicken wings recipe perfect for family dinners, game-day spreads, or casual get-togethers. Just mix the marinade, pour it over the wings, and let the oven do the rest.

Why Orange Juice Works So Well With Chicken Wings

Chicken wings with orange juice work so well because the citrus brightens the dish and balances the richness
of the chicken. That sweet, tangy flavor also pairs naturally with honey, garlic, paprika, thyme, and chili
paste.

As the wings bake, the orange juice and honey help create a lightly sticky coating on each piece. You get
wings that are sweet, savory, lightly tangy, and easy to serve as either an appetizer or dinner.

Tips for Better Orange Chicken Wings

For the best orange chicken wings, coat the wings well before they go into the oven. Spoon some marinade
over the top so each piece gets plenty of orange, garlic, and spice flavor. If you have extra time, let the
wings sit in the marinade before baking.

Once they are ready to bake, keep the foil on for the first part of cooking, then remove it so the wings can
finish uncovered. This helps the sauce reduce slightly while the wings cook through.

Serve the wings hot, with a little extra sauce from the pan spooned over the top. Add orange slices for a
bright finish, if you like.

What to Serve With Orange Chicken Wings

These orange chicken wings pair well with simple sides. For dinner, serve them with rice, roasted vegetables, slaw, fries, or a fresh salad.

For parties, add them to a spread with dips, bread, and other finger foods. The sweet citrus flavor makes them a nice change from the usual barbecue or Buffalo-style wings.

FAQs about This Recipe

Yes. You can prepare the wings with the marinade earlier, the same day or the night before, then keep them covered in the refrigerator until you are ready to bake. This makes the recipe easier to manage when you are cooking for guests or prepping dinner in advance.

Yes. Bottled orange juice works well for this recipe, though fresh orange juice is also a good option if you have it. Choose one with a bright orange flavor, since the juice is one of the main ingredients in the marinade.

These orange chicken wings have a little warmth from the chili paste, but the orange juice and honey help balance the heat. If you prefer a milder flavor, use less chili paste.

Yes. You can leave out the chili paste for a milder version. The wings will still have plenty of flavor from the orange juice, garlic, honey, paprika, and thyme.

Coat the wings well with the marinade and keep them covered for the first part of baking to help hold in moisture. Avoid overcooking them, and use a food thermometer to check that the wings reach 165°F before serving. Spoon some of the pan sauce over the wings to keep them juicy and flavorful.
